At this already busy time of year, does anyone do cookie exchanges anymore (besides my crazy friends?)We get together next Thursday and bring prepackaged "gifts" of 1/2 doz cookies to swap with each participant. It's always fun and a nice way to get some variety for our cookie trays without making 15 different cookies! The person who hosts is the coordinator for the year and she makes sure there are no duplicates. The evolution of the recipes has really been fun, last year someone made petit fours! I'm making a glazed almond butter cookie star that is my all time favorite cookie EVER!!(My cousin's recipe I must add!)

with a happy heart

New tradition beginning at Walnetto Farm next Saturday. The three lovely granddaughters are all old enough to come at one time and bake. We will be baking Christmas Stollen, a tradition from their Grandfather's family and a variety of cookies and perhaps some goats milk fudge.

With a house full of little girls it will be joyful most certainly!

Next Wednesday, my daughter and two year old granddaughter are spending the day at my house while we bake Christmas cookies. Can't wait. This will be the second year we have done this, though it was a tradition with my mother-in-law, my daughter and I when my daughter was young.

We will make p-nut butter drops with chocolate kisses in the center, and of course sugar cookies with lots of icing on top.

Today I spent a lovely morning baking sugar cookies with my young daughter. ( Don't have grandchildren yet but I can hardly wait when those little blessings come to my kitchen!) We cut out some star cookies and she decorated them like "Patrick" of Sponge bob cartoon. It's fun to see what these kids come up with for decorating cookies. When the oldest daughter returns next week from college we will bake our Christmas Stollen, a tradition since she was little. We also bake cookies for some of our bachelor neighbors and elderly neighbors.
