I have collected all my supplies needed, however, the craft store I was at did not have a hat form. So I am going to order one from the website listed in MJF magazine. Does anyone know which size I should order for the hat form: Gentle Dome or High Dome. Which would work best?
Thanks for your help!

Way to go Kerry! I looked at that tutorial and thought..."Whew! That would take me all summer or longer to make!" LOL...It looks really difficult. You'll have to let me know how it goes for you. Maybe if you find it working out OK, I'll give it a try.

Is this in the newest issue? I ordered a subscription so I haven't gone to the feed store to pick up a copy of the newest magazine. I don't want a double copy but I'm afraid if I don't go pick up the new copy I'll end up not getting it at all.

Kerry:
I saw the hat too in the MJF magazine. How cute. If you do make it, please post a picture for us to see.

Kerry, I loved the hat also in the MJF Magazine and thought about doing it for a summer project until I found out that you couldn't buy the Raffia already braided. I have Fibro and Arthritis in my hands so thought that might be a bit too painful of a project. But let me know how you do with it and how long it takes you. Personally I would go with the shorter hat form not the taller. Have you worn hats before? If not the taller one may make you feel more like you have a 10-gallon cowgirl hat on. LOL

Blessings,

Thats what I was thinking too with the high form, but I wanted to make sure before I ordered. Ill probably go ahead and get the gentle form... hopefully that is the right one.
If the hat goes well, Peggy, Ill try making you some strands so that you can make a hat too!

Hi Kerry,

I just joined up 4/22/2010 and ordered my magazine at the same time. The newest issue arrived today, so wait a little bit. I'm sure you will get it soon.

Kerrieann...I checked out the Franks Supply website that you posted. The wheat straw is certainly an option.

And it was great to see that they carried so many hat forms too.

Five strand braiding is just the same as 3 strand, only more. You just need to take it slow until you get the hang of it cause otherwise you can get confused.
