Oh Bonnie, I wish I could! That trip sounds like so much fun! I didn't hear about it until after we had already made our vacation plans for the summer. I can't wait to hear all about it!

Brenda,
I found a corncob for you! Email me your address and I'll send it asap. It's kind of skinny, but I'm sure you can make a cute doll out of it!

Shari - I like your simple idea of cooking the corn then drying the cobs. I'm going to the Farmer's Market tomorrow so plan to pick up some corn for supper then have what I need to make some dolls.
I also wanted to make a clove apple tomorrow. Found instructions that said after all the cloves are in, you roll the clove apple in a mixture of cinnamon and orris root. But, when I was at the store today, I did not remember "orris root" and got "arrowroot" Do y'all think it will work just rolling the clove apple in cinnamon?

Betsy, Orris Root is very different from Arrowroot. Arrowroot is used just like corn starch. I think the cinnamon should be fine and probably make it smell even better :)

I'm glad that orris root is not required since I had an "old blonde moment" when I was at the store. I'm sure I'll find a use for the arrow root.
Can't wait to see and hear about the projects that everyone is working on this weekend.

I am down with bronchitis and an ear infection, so I may be quiet for a few days. Carry on!

Made a half apron today. Love it to pieces. I'd like to use it for my badge so I'll have to get a pic taken

Nellie so glad you joined us. If you have any questions just ask and someone will be able to help you out.
Amy got my corncob, thank you. I think I'll be able to pad her up some.

Brenda, you did get a corncob? Forgot to ask you! My weeks settling down, and I am reading my book (not my 1st time cuz I love litttle house!) Also, my daughter found a book at Border's called 'Little Blog on the Prairie'. Modern day take on a girl who's family takes her to a prairie vacation retreat, can I find one, LOL! Anyway, its her take on this prairie 1800's lifestyle. Kinda flipped thru it and it looks hilarious. Maybe look into sometime, ladies! Blessings, Linda

Hi Girls, Since we are coming up to June, does that mean we should start reading Farmer Boy? All the best, Tina

So correct me, are we discussing each book or just reading on our own and doing projects?

We will start reading Little House on the Prairie which is #2 in the series, on July 1st. I will post the projects for that book on that day. As far as discussion, I do not have any specific discussion questions/topics in mind. But anyone is of course free to start a discussion about the current book.

I thought book 2 was Farmer Boy? I have Little House on the Prairie as book 3. Is that right?
I would love to also discuss the first book.. I love it so much! Favorite chapter-Deer in the wood.

Farmer Boy is #3. I have always loved the Christmas chapters in all the Little House books. I really enjoy the simplicity of their celebrations, and how the smallest gift is such a treasure.

Hi Amy, I'm confused. I have a numbered edition of the book series and Farmer Boy is listed as Book 2 on the spine of the book? How are you feeling by the way? All the best, Tina
