Hello, I am new to the forum and find it quite interesting that several of you have mentioned doing internships on local farms. We are increasing our vegetable and herb gardens to accomodate the demand for good foods in our area. We have batted around the idea of bringing in interns in the summer. I would love to know how the internships work in your area. Would anyone be willing to share?

Thanks!
Sarah

I just wanted to say welcome to the group Sarah!! I hope someone has some good info for you! If you have read MaryJane's book she talks some about interns. I am sure someone here will help..this is such a great group! It will be fun to get to know you. What type sheep do you have? I have a few Iclandics.

Hey it's the SS welcome to the group Sweetsarah
I've had me some interns. How many hours/days a week? Do ya got tent space for a camp ground/housing? Gotcha CSA or farmers market you are feeding into to help with stipends? Talk to UK Ag college?

Lookie here?

I wonder if Saturday morning type internships or work shops would work out better in some areas than having people stay overnight....I hope that MaryJane does a new book section on that!!!!

You can bury a lot of troubles digging in the dirt!
