A sweet friend sent me some Calendula seeds. Does anyone have any tips for planting them? They are an annual right?

Yep....Annuals.

I use calendula petals in my Lemon Verbena soap---a very good herb for your skin. And the petals are edible--Haven't tried that!

I just planted half a raised bed in calendula this morning--Funny!

They grow in any well-drained soil in full sun or bright partial shade. Deadhead regularly to promote new blossom. Good luck!

Also if you let some go to seed, they will come up every year for you.

Oh yes they will reseed themselves! I love them though. They're so pretty.

"Let us never forget that the cultivation of the earth is the most important labor of man. When tillage begins, other art follows. The farmers, therefore, are the founders of civilization."
