Have not updated for a while. I thought I should share the good news! My daughter is in remission. Her dosage of steroids had been slowly reduced and the weight gain and medication induced Acne are improving. She gained about 22 pounds but has taken it well. Her attitude during her illness was not so great and she flunked 10th grade. Even though she passed all her subjects she refused to do the 10th grade part of her graduation project! Her pediatric nephrolgist said that alot of children who develop FSGN never go into remission and if she can stay in remission for two years she may remain in remission forever. Another blessing that occured this summer was that I was not taking care of myself and became sick. My doctor discovered that my blood sugar was over 400 and I had ignored every symptom of Diabetes. My A1c was 11.6 (supposed to be 7) and I am on Insulin on a temporary basis. I have lost 20 pounds, completely changed my eating habits and my daughter and I work out and swim at the Y several times a week. In spite of the difficult times my family experienced during the last several months I have made improvements in my life and now feel better that I have in years. It was in great part to the support and encouragement of my farmgirls sisters that gave me the strength to grow aand change during adversity and to respect the Lord's blessing for improving my daughters health. God bless you all! |

Praise the Lord! Sounds like a miracle after all!!! Now we will pray for continued healing. COMPLETE remission! How excited you must be, Connie. And I'm glad to hear you're taking care of yourself as well. Thank you so much for bringing us an update! Visit us often and keep us updated on her (and your) progress.
Our Great and Awesome Father, we THANK YOU for Your healing touch. Thank You, Lord that the reports we receive that bring fear are NOT Your reports and that we can believe and rely upon Your mighty hands for a greater outcome. We thank You that Connie's daughter is healed and we pray that her healing will continue and last for ever. We also pray for Connie's continued peace and healing in her own body. Give her faith to continue relying on You each and every day and endurance as she continues to take ahold of her and her daughter's health in their eating/exercise habits. Thank You, Father, for our sister Connie and the miracle You have given her in a healthy daughter. I pray that her testimony of healing will give faith and hope to many others who are battling with a discouraging report from a doctor. May You be glorified! In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN!
