At my 16 year old daughters yearly check-up the doctor found a huge amount of protien in her urine. He did blood and urine tests, sent them to the lab saying "nothing to worry about, see ya in a month." Three days later his office called and said to come in that day. Doctor said my daughter is passing more than 300 times the protien than is allowable and said that he had never seen anything like this in his practice. He said usually Diabetics pass some protien but not ever near what my daughter is passing and she is not diabetic. She shows no symptoms but she needs to see a Pediatric Nephrologist (kidney specialist). We finally found one across the state line in VA. This may be very serious and I am very worried. She has her appointment in Friday 05/07. Will let you know how everything goes but I would appreciate a couple of prayers on her behalf.

Oh goodness, Connie. I will be praying it's a false alarm and everything is normal. I know she's probably scared to death. Prayers are being sent up.

Heavenly Father, I lift up Connie's daughter to You and ask for a healing touch. Just one touch from You and she can be completely healed from whatever this is that is attacking her body. I pray that follow up tests on Friday will show nothing wrong and that she will be given a completely clean bill of health. Please, Father, give Connie peace as she waits. I pray against all fear and that Your perfect love will fill her heart as she waits and trusts in You. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN!

Prayers sent...I am glad you are seeing a specialist. It is awful when our children are ill and we feel like we can't help them. The Lord and the sisterhood will help spiritually and the specialist will help physically.

you are in my heart and prayers today. may i suggest that in some cases of porphyria proteins in the urine are extremely high. used to be considered rare. now with dna they have found it is more common. can be aquired. can be inherited with parent symptom free. just a thought sherrye

**UPDATE*
Went to the kidney specialist on friday. She said that the amount of protien in my daughters urine is certainly concerning but that teenagers sometimes have a type of positional proienuria caused by being in an upright position. She wants my daughter to empty her bladder before bed and as soon as her eyes open, get a first morning urine. If it contains no protien she will simply monitir my daughter, but if it does contain protien we will have to do a 24 hr urine collection, blood tests, a kidney ultrasound and lastly a kidney biopsy. The doctor feels that with the huge amount of protien in her urine we will have to do the testing and as I took the sample to the lab yesterday morning, we should hear some results today. |

+UPDATE+
Got the results of my daughters latest urine test and the results were about the worst they could be. Huge amounts of protien in her morning urine. She will need extensive blood and urine testing with a kidney biopsy in about a week. Will keep everyone up to date after I receive the final results. Thaks to you all for the continued prayers and good wishes. Please continue them. |
