What do you ladies think of an Amish recipe swap??! I love anything amish and would love to have some more recipes. This would be a one time swap and sign up would end the 14th of May. Anyway, if anyone is intrested let me know.

Hi! Channah, I would love to participate in this. One recipe I would like to have, if anyone has it, is the starter recipe for the Amish Friendship Bread. I was given a starter and made tons of bread for my son's wedding but let the starter go bad. Shame on me!! Thanks a lot! Smiles, Beth

I like the idea of sending to each other, this way we can sample everyone's recipes!
I had gotten the Amish friendship bread starter a few months back from one of my friends. The recipe that I had needed "Jello pudding" mix. I didn't think that was very Amish, so I didn't keep it going!
If you have the recipe Diana, you might want to save it for the swap! :)

Sounds like fun girls, but I don't have any Amish recipes to swap. I do have a bunch of basque recipes. They generally use lots of garlic, onions, and lamb.
But, I would be very interested in the starter bread recipe. I have a bag of starter in the freezer that calls for the jello pudding mix, and it just turns out too sweet. After my experiment with the bread mary jane's way it doesn't seem that difficult to understand. :)

For those of you who don't have any amish recipes I know that you can get many amish recipe books from the library.

YAY!! So lets try and send 2 or 3 recipes to each person. And you don't have to write them out if you don't want to. I know it is a lot of recipes to write out. :) Should we do it in groups of 10?!?

Sounds good, Channah. I've checked out some Amish cookbooks from the library, but haven't tired that many. Perhaps I'll throw in some "bonus" basque favorites. :)
