Hi everyone: I've been reading MJ's magazine since it first came out and also have her books. I read them all over and over and over.... Just recently joined the connection and sent my membership in this evening for the Sisterhood. I see a list of Sisterhood members..do I add my name to the list now, or when I get my membership kit?? I'm assuming I'm not an official member until I get my kit, because I'm unable to sign into the Sisterhood forum. I may have jumped into all that's offered on the website before I really knew my way around. But I'm famous for jumping in with three feet <g> If someone could clear things up a little for me I'd really appreciate it. Thank you...and I'm so looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning from you all.

Hi Jean! Welcome to the Sisterhood!

You will be added to the list by The Farm (MaryJanesFarm) soon.
Get your feet wet on and around the Connection. It will not be long before you get your membership and packet.... soon!

Hi Kerrieann: Thanks so much for the warm welcome. Tomorrow I'm going to find my way around, bookmark certain areas and...most definately...check out the files in the welcome wagon :) I look forward to finding a henhouse after I get my kit. Again, thanks for your help.

A big Wisconsin hay dare to ya Jean! We are so glad you joined us. This site is a little confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is addicting! I have to set a timer so I don't stay on all day. Use the subscribe to this topic button, it helps you find posts.

Jean . . . and a Farmgirl Welcome for me, in Southwest Colorado.
Yes, you will find your way . . . there is a TREMENDOUS amount to read and sort through. You'll get the "hang of it" pretty soon.
Just enjoy browsing . . .
If you can't find a local henhouse to join and would be interested in a "virtual" henhouse, check out the thread "CHICKS WANTED . . .for FARMGIRLS SOUTHWEST" and let me know is you need further information.
WELCOME!!

Thank you all so much for the warm Farmgirl welcomes !!! I can understand having to set a timer as I see I've been wandering around the forum for nearly two hours now. YIKES !!! I'm so excited I want to jump into everything NOW !!! But I'm showing restraint until I settle in :)) I'm officially Sister Chick #1455...YAY !!! I did sign up for the mail art swap as I've done a bit of it in the past and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing you all hanging around the hay bales....

Don't know if you got your answer to getting your name on the Sisterhood List. If you didn't, first of all you will have to buy a membership in the Sisterhood which you can do through links on this Connection.

After all that goes through then your name will get added by someone at the Farm, eventually. If you join the Sisterhood, you will be given a number and the red hexagon will appear with your name on the forum.

Hope that helps!!

Can some of you let me know what the benefits of joining are. What discounts do you get on products and are the newsletters really that good, etc. Just need to know if I will really be missing so much, if I don't join. Don't have the 20.00 right now and the shopping cart shows 8 + dollars for shipping! Very high for a badge and some paper.

Hi Cathy,

You should check out our Sisterhood Information page here: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/farmgirl-sisterhood/. The discounts vary from month to month. Sometimes it is a discount on all of our products that contain corn or, sometimes we give away free books. I forwarded our sample copy of the "Cluck" for you to review.

Don't worry about the shipping! As many of the Sisters will tell you, we have to manually adjust the shipping amount. The final charge will be $1.22. We are very excited about a new online shopping store that we are working on that will eliminate the artificially inflated estimates on Sisterhood Packets.

If you have any questions let me know! (Brianogle@maryjanesfarm.org or 888-750-6004) I am typically in the office between 9 and 5 Pacific time.

Thanks,

~Brian

Hi Staci: What part of PA are you from? I'd love to find a local henhouse but I have a feeling I'm in the wrong part of PA. <g> I'm near Johnstown. And I absolutely ADORE this place !!!!!

Hi Cathy: I totally understand tight finances, but I don't regret joining the Sisterhood. I did it for the feeling of belonging, so I can't really give you any info on discounts. As for the newsletters, I received my first one and it's 39 pages !!!!!! That's practically a book. lol Each page is beautifully done and full of so much great info that I've read it over three times and will go through it again, I'm sure. I can tell I'm going to learn a LOT from being a Sister.
