The one I am working on at the time. I like variety so I never seem to make the same quilt blocks.

Smiles.... mine is also the log cabin. I have an Amish king-size "log cabin" quilt done mainly in dark blues on my bed.

Julie: For some reason I love the grandmothers flower garden. It's usually done in 30's colors and it makes me happy to look at it. Bonnie

My favorite is "Birds in the Air". I think this is going to be my next quilt to make with 30's repro fabric!

Sunshine and Shadows!

Many years ago I restored a vintage queen size sunshine and shadows quilt for a lady here in town. It took me 16-months to finish--The squares were 1-1/2 inches long---there had to be thousands of little squares. It was very bright for a quilt made in the 30's and a pleasure to restore. The year I started it my DH bought me my maple Hinterberg quilting frame...

I agree with Bonnie- the Grandmother's flower garden, with the traditional 30's fabric... I've never seen one I didn't care for! I have one on my daughter's bed, and it makes the whole room happy! :)

I have to say that there are so many, I couldn't pick just one. I think applique onto pieced blocks is my favorite look. I love log cabin, and then I throw some flowers or something on top of that, and it is so much fun! As far as patterns, log cabin is an old favorite, you can do so much with it by color arrangement, so maybe that would be it! Otherwise, a dahlia quilt is also beautiful!

Hello, I'm a new farmgirl....although I was raised on a farm. Quilting is my passion and I've been at it for 37 years. My favorite quilt block any kind of star pattern.

Another fan of pieced blocks with applique. I love to do needle turn applique and just love the combination of an appliqued center with pieced borders or the reverse of that.

Couple of years ago, DH and I went to Liberty, Mo. to spend the weekend. They have the cutest B&B built in an old church. We love it there. And the antiqueing is great. We found a Wedding Ring quilt that we both just loved. My MIL made one for my DD and she has it hanging over her bannister two floors up, that you can see hanging while sitting in the kitchen. Beautiful. I would have to say the Dresden Plate is a close runner up.

Anything that challenges. This year the National Quilt Museum Challenge is based on Orange Peel. I'm not sure I will ever feel the same about orange juice after this!
