I am pretty sure we have grubs, they are green or brown and they live in the sod. Now here are my questions, are they harmful? Are they okay for my plants? Are they bad if they get in my composte heep? If so is there a farmgirl/organic/cheap way to get rid of them
Thanks yall Em

I don't know if they're harmful to the soil, but don't grubs attract moles? I once had moles in my yard and I used an organic treatment to get rid of the grubs, which got rid of the moles. Can't remember the name of the product--it came in a long tube and you dusted it onto the lawn at even intervals. Wish I could remember the name of it.... Cindy

most grubs are a bad thing. good thing is you can get rid of them with natural predaters. i believe it is called milk7 spore disease. you put it put it on lawn and grubs die. safe for pets kids cows etc. sherrye

My chicken favorite treat is grub worms, but they can't eat enough to get rid of the moles. I might try that milk 7, thanks for the idea, Carol

Whenever I'm digging around in the garden, and happen to spot a grub, I put it in a cup. When I'm all done, I take my little collection of grubs and put it out by the bird feeder. My robins go crazy for that little pile of grubs!

Thank you girls, I found probably two dozen in planting my new gardens, digging up the sod and I will get some nice organic stuff online to get rid of them. Any suggestions?
