wondering if any of you gals that do fiber heard of this. you wrap your bar of soap with the clean wool completely all sides. then you run hot water on the soap while you rub the wool. it causes the wool to shrink and felt itself to the bar of soap. you then have a washrag and soap combo. when soap is gone you have a scrubby. you can use different colors of wool for this. it makes beautiful soap bars. i am going to try a natural white wool wrap with colored fibers from goats. i think it would make a great wash cloth and soap bar in one. if no one else is doing this i can post a pic. when i master the art. lol sherrye

Well Sherrye, never heard of it, don't make soap, don't have any wool, but would absolutely LOVE to buy one from you once you figure it out!! I can barter some dried lavender buds, scrapbook papers, or an upcycled apron...Those felted soap bars sound wonderful!

hi amy, thanks for the reply. i am learning more each day. to my happy surprise the wool felt wrap makes the bar float. thats an advantage for sure. i can put my baby soap bars in the felt and have a floating washrag soap bar. now i need to learn how to do designs on the felt. sherrye i believe these will be a great seller. i am making a complextion bar and going to wrap it. great for exfoliating. i am surprised no one has chimed in. maybe no one else has done this. its a girl scout and kindergarden project. i think they are so clever. we love them. i have them out to all family to try. sherrye

Hi Sherry,
I have made a few, but the type of wool seems to be important too.
Hubby thinks mine are too scratchy.
If you make soap in the round shapes it helps cover better, mine were square and sometimes the wool would thin some on the corners.
I have bought them before and like them, but never asked the type of wool.
Going to Shepherds market next weekend I'll check around.

Martha Stewart did a demo of this on one of her shows about a month ago. You might try her web site for more instructions.
