Today was opening day of our farmers market. I took 14 dozen eggs and Sold Out!!! What a great day!

How many hens do you have Julie? I have been selling a few eggs here and there to co-workers, we are down to 4 dozen in the fridge - frittata for dinner:) Everyone is just blown away by the eggs though, how good they are. Maybe someday I'll do the farmers market...

I have 20 hens right now but we are getting 25 more in august. they ONLY drawback to selling at the market is that federal law mandates that eggs for sale be washed and stored at 45 degrees or less in a temperature controlled unit. (A cooler with ice wont cut it!) The egg washing part isnt a big deal. But the refridgeration units are EXPENSIVE!!! I really shopped around and finally found a good price on one but it was still pricy!
