Good day to all! Hubby and daughter are coming back from the woods with morels and ramps. We've been long time morel lovers, but this is our first attempt at ramps, can't wait to try them. Does anybody have a favorite way to fix 'em up that they would like to share ?

Don't have a clue on what they are, let alone how to fix them, lol.

Ramps are wild leeks found in springtime in the woods, they have an onion/garlic flavor and the entire plant leaves and all are edible. They look like a green onion but with broad flat leaves, We made a flatbread with pizza dough, EVOO, cheese, basil, etc and placed blanched ramps on it, baked for about 10-12 minutes, it was fabulous ! I couldn't believe how good they were, fried up some morels with horseradish dipping sauce, wow, really good, and free from the woods !!!

I love morels but never had ramps. I used to love to go mushroom hunting when I was a kid. I haven't been in a long time. They are hard to find but so worth the search! My grandmother used to fry them in an egg batter. So good!

We always hunted the mighty morel :-) here, Dad always soaked them in salt water after slicing them in half for about an hour, then dried them off and rolled em in flour and fried in only butter in a cast iron skillet til crispy, we ate them on fresh white bread...I heard yesterday the dark morels are up now!!!!
