Log in and go to your profile page. Scroll down to where you can see all the little pictures of your friends on the left side. Click the words "SHOW ALL" then find the person you want to delete and click the big X to the right of their name. It will ask you to confirm.
you can also go to that persons profile. then scrll to the bottom of the screen. on the lower left side it will say "report this person" or remove this person. click on remove. when the confirmation box pops up click yes, and that should take care of it.

You have to click "show all". However if you are using a mobil facebook application on a phone or something like that it will not allow you to delete. You have to be on an actual computer.
