I need to ask for some prayers. My little boy Nigel is just having a heck of a time feeling well. He has stomache issues and so many children with autism. He has had croup, he fell at the park or cut his head open, then he fell at a restaurant and cut his head again. He then fell again at the therapists office on Monday and now he may have strep or croup again.
We took him to a GI specialist this morning and to his MD because of his fever and lethargy. They are doing bloodowork to rule out celiac and other things.
Can you gals just keep him in your thoughts and prayers, please? I would really appreciate it. He just turned 4. |

Thanks so much. He feels so yucky. He has a fever and his head still aches from the concussion...We are keeping up the fluids and any food.
I truly appreciate your prayers. |

As I read the first part of your post I immediately thought of celiac and milk intolerance. My grandson had terrible stomach and bowel issues until he was taken off of all gluten and dairy products. It is a hard road to hoe, but I tell you that he is now 8 and a ball of fire. He is healthy and knows what he can and can't eat. There are many studies out there about autism and theinteractions of protiens in gluten and dairy products. Might be worth your time to do some researching on the web. If you decide to take him off of gluten and dairy products I would be happy to share our grandson's food list he eat off of. There is a lot more to eat than you would think, and most of it is very healthy. I will pray for your little guy. Good Luck! |

Another thing came to mind. I don't know what the cause of the falls are, but a deficiency in magnesium can cause falling. Might check that out too. |

Thanks everyone!
Kem we are starting no dairy right now, per the DR. He wants to wait on the gluten to rule out celiac, but we will likely be headed that way soon enough. We are experimenting with recipes. Nigel has felt pretty good eting these things, but you never know if the buildup is taking its toll. I have been tested for celiac and I feel better when I cut down on wheat. DH is lactose intolerant, so it seemed like a logical place to start.
Dh accidentally bought regular almond milk and not vanilla and DS wont drink that. He doesnt seem too thrilled with the vanilla soy milk. We have a tough road ahead.
Nigels fever has been up and down. His throat looks raw and it swollen. We are doing warm tea with lots of honey. |

My grand-daugher is 10 but for several years has dealt with stomach problems. Finally DD took her to Children's Mercy and the said after alot of testing that she has Celiac. After starting her new med's she is doing so much better. And she knows what she can and can't eat. It she stay on the correct diet and med's she does good. The few times that she's forgotten to take her med's she'll have a little attack with it. Have they tested your son for it? I may not hurt to mention it to them. Prayers are with you and your family. I understand the frustration of not knowing for sure and concern with them always feeling bad. Do let us know how he's doing.

Prayers are on the way for Nigel's health issues and your strength in dealing with them. As a mom we want to fix everything for our dear little ones, I'm glad to hear that a diet change my be helping. It isn't easy but if it will help its well worth the effort!
