Last night at church I was helping with clean up after our weekly-Wednesday-night dinner. A woman came into the kitchen to help with the drying the dishes and she asked where the dry towels were. I pointed to the drawer with the aprons and said that there were the aprons and then I pointed to the drawer with the towels and said and there are the towels. She looked at me and looked at my apron and asked if we really needed to wear aprons. I said that yes, life is messy wear your apron. She kind of just looked at me.

Any of you have any similar experiences where you use some Farmgirl logic on a person who isn't of the Farmgirl thinking and they just don't get it?

I often wear my aprons over jeans, because A)They are pretty and B)Maybe I'll need it!

I get funny looks. Sometimes even approaching me & asking in a not exactly nice tone, why I am wearing an apron. Or ever so kindly reminding me that I forgot to take it off. I have one, which was a gift from a friend. It had intricate embroidery of flowers, butterflys, and the letter J on the pocket with a bird. It's too pretty to just hang there.

If I wear my apron into town people ask me if I'm on my way to work!

I have got that before too.
I have worn mine when I do cooking classes with the youth at church activities too and they look at me funny. I always tease them and ask where their aprons are and tell them that my pizza or whatever we are making will taste better because of the apron. One little 12 year old brought her mom's apron last time after I said that..heehehe

If I don't wear my apron, I always get spills, stains, etc on my
shirt.

If I wear an apron I hardly ever make any messes to need an apron.

It's just a good reminder to wear it!
