connected to the women who lived lives just like ours. I just recently won a drawing done by a Sister Farmgirl, CJ. My prize, two hankies from her personal collection!

They arrived carefully wrapped and labeled. As I began to open them,I noticed a handwritten letter was enclosed with each hankie. It told about the previous owner and details of her life. I was so touched an honored to receive these, these women were part of CJ's life!

I felt so connected, instantly, to these two women. Learning who they were and what they did. The fact that CJ was willing to "share" her treasures (her family) and the details of their lives with me, left such an overwhelming sense of appreciation, gratitude and at the same time a touch of sadness.

I will treasure these hankies, their history and the women who they represent. I will also treasure CJ for sharing herself, her family and the stories of these two wonderful women. . . a gift so special that has touched my heart in a magical way that will stay with me forever.

Joanna what a gift CJ shared. From what you wrote I felt I could just sense what you were feeling. It is such a personal a special part of CJ that she has past on. Enjoy & Love them as I'm sure CJ would want you to.

Blessings, Brenda

Thank you, I will treasure these forever! I have always felt that I am a guardian for the treasures of our past, preserving and documenting them for future women. It all came about when my own history was lost when a key family member passed on and none of the children at the time wanted to preserve what this family member knew. A valuable lesson learned for sure.

CJ has shown me that we can insure a piece of our treasured past will continue on into the future if we share it! Thanks CJ!!
