I would say do the best ya can with the hair. I have read that doll hair can be fixed when washed and lots of conditioner used. I like the idea of a bonnet. you can make a bonnet with new hair hanging from it and never take the bonnet off.

Found me a perfect doll at the thrift store for this swap but just had to look at all the dolls they had. Found me another to take home and my daughter looked at it and said "boy that's an ugly doll". I showed her the cute freckles and little teeth and her beautiful eyes and while I was doing this I discovered it was a Chatty Cathy doll. I had a doll like this 50 years ago! She's in really nice condition too. Been thinking about outfits for my swap doll and think I may dress Chatty Cathy as a farm girl too.

I'm happy you said what you did about the hair, Linda. I have a barbie I've been trying and trying to do something with her hair and she is absolutley about to drive me crazy! I like the idea of the bonnet too or even a little doo rag. LOL

Melanie - It looks like one just signed up. Yippee
Debbie - I think you and I will be partners. It does not matter what size, your choice. I already have my doll and have been thinking about outfits but was waiting for a partner before getting started. I don't have a lot of time but am excited about doing this. I haven't made doll clothes since my daughter was small. I don't know about the time frame on this but 3-4 weeks works for me. I'll send you an email.

I like to sew, mostly I am sewing quilts and handmade bags but a rescue dolly might be kind of fun. Mine would have to be bigger than a Barbie though.

How's are everyone's dolly's coming along? I hope ya'll are having a better run of things with your dolls than I've been having with mine.
I had a nasty respiratory infection a week or so ago and well wouldn't you know I got better for a day or two and it has decided to come back in full swing! Aaaarrrgggg. I hope my partners, Linda and Barbara will forgive me if I run a few days behind. I'm going to get back to work on then here in a bit.
