Its finally spring here in Michigan and I am ready for some fresh aspargus..Got a vavorite way to prepare it you would like to share?

Yep, we love to grill it, too. Also love (the tips) steamed, and tossed with fresh lemon/olive oil over penne, with a dusting of cracked pepper and fresh parmesan.

Oh, YUM! My DH planted asparagus roots last year and we were so excited to see the tips of our very first spears peeking out on Saturday. I know we can only eat a couple of spears this year but I'm all giddy at the thought.

we fry the spears in a small amount of peanut oil. fast.. they are hot but still crunchy.. toss with course salt and grated parm cheese.

I like it steamed until just tender as a side to some beer battered fish and tartar sauce. A healthier version of fish & chips!

As for other spring veggies - I've been making french carrot salad (so good!) and am trying to figure out what to do with my English cucumber - might try my hand at Scandinavian cucumber dill salad.
