Hi Barbara - I have a simple quilt book for beginners that I'm looking at - just piecing two rectangle pieces together. Perhaps you can give me some other ideas? I don't have a farmgirl # - I haven't joined that part of MJF yet :) Is it OK if I just put my name? |

If you search "free Quilt patterns" you will find sooo many block patterns, from beginner to some very complicated desings. How much time do we have to make these blocks?
One stitch at a time, one day I may finish. |

I will email you some ideas and web sites, after I get off work today. And yes your name would be fine. You know that you can make 4 split rail fence blocks competed to measure 6 1/2. Then sew the 4 together to make one 12 1/2 inch block. Barbara

okay have decided to be included in this exchange, I had to think about it because I didn't want to commit to something that I couldn't, timewise, finish. So how long will we have to complete the blocks? That will decide how intricate they are.
I love swaps they are so fantastic to see others ideas. And I love surprises. Jennifer

Vi this swap is different...I'll count you in!! Oh and jelliot the time will be decided on your mini group. I have placed you both in the second group. Sending an e-mail to eveyone in the first group to reconfirm. But you two can start sewing now if you like. (Red and White, 12 1/2 inch blocks, 11 to send and 1 for yourself.) Barbara

Hi I am new to the group and would love to join this swap! Please sign me up. I have one stupid question. Where do I get addresses for all the swappers in my group? I realize I will be put in the second group and need to wait till more sign up, but just want to make sure I know what I am doing! I am starting blocks this week, I can't wait! I LOVE fun mail!

Hello all, I am new to this forum but I have returned just recently to quilting after a long hiatus and would love to do this swap to help ease me back into things! Red and white quilts are always so pretty too, it's a great choice. Catherine |

A wise woman once told me "there is no such thing as a dumb question" (Thanks Ann! LOL) Shannon - once we have our group, I'm sure Barbara will provide us with a list of addresses, or we would contact the girls directly by clicking on the little envelope/paper icon by their name. This allows you to "email poster" so you can email anyone you wish on this site at any time! |

I just did the sugnature block exchange. We sent in out blocks with a SASE that allowed the swap mama to send each of us back 21 signature blocks and 21 4 patch blocks. I had the postmaster weight my mailer together with my 42 blocks, and then I applied postage. Then the swap mama sorted everything and mailed us back our blocks. Are we doing it that way, or sending each person an block in a regular envelope? MAry LD

Barbara, would it be ok if I was in two groups? So I end up doing double the blocks. Let me know.

Hi Ladies I quess I asked for it when I said bring on the questions!!!hahaha I felt like I walked in to an excited room of quilters. I LOVE IT!!!! Okay first things first yes I will make sure that everyone has everyones e-mail. I am sending out a "double" check e-mail and will not put folks in a group until they reply. I understand that somethings change from "yes" count me in-- to doing the task. Heather B, I say sure you can be in two different groups if you want. I have been thinking about the logistics of the swap and I am going to have everyone mail the blocks to me - with a return SASE. Well I need to go fix supper, but I promise I will send out email tonight that will incluse the group that your in and all the details. After all a farmgirl must take care of her "hubby" right? (honestly sometimes quilting comes first...hahaha) Barbara PS I still love the questions.

I am so very excited b/c last month I bought several red & white fat quarters (Valentine's Day Sale) at my local quilt shop(Sunflower Quilt Shop) and I had no idea I would be needing them for any particular project, just that I was drawn to them. How cool is that? So here is my situation, I will be on holiday the during Holy Week and will not have access to my computer. It is spring break here. We have a cabin down in Missouri and I plan to take all my quiltin' supplies, notions and sewing machine. It will be Heaven! Can ya guess what I'm going to be working on???? So, I wonder if I will be missing anything regarding this swap??

Ann, we had fish, rice, and salad. Very good!! Okay, I sent out the first mini group e-mail. It has basic info that you will need for the swap. You should be able to enjoy yourself on your holiday. Don't think that you will miss anything via computer. Sounds like a great little get away!! Have fun, Barbara

It will be the same as when you send it to me. 11 blocks here and 11 blocks back. I think that you should be able to send in a manila envelope. I might even put the blocks in a plastic bag first. What do you think? Barbara
