I was reading through my new issue of Backwoods home magazine and saw an article about cold climate grape growing and read along and finally looked back to see who wrote it and by heck..it was our Gail. I made sure to read where she was from since her name is not uncommon..but for sure..she was from Utah so it is her!! She is quite the writer! If you all get a chance to check it out you should. Good issue otherwise also!!

This one is the Gail who has the "Gail's Garden" etsy store - she's my neighbor from Utah. She hasn't posted very much here, but is a really great lady with a wonderful cottage garden. And as far as the grapes go, she knows what she's talking about! Her garden is just lovely...
I haven't seen the article myself, I can't wait to read it!

Hi Everyone! And thank you Aunt Jenny for talking up my article in Backwoods Home about grapes! I'm glad you liked it. I just got my copy today when I went to the post office so was surprised it was out already. I have been so busy in the garden. It seems everything needs doing all at once. Today, however, the wind drove me in and I have a bit of time for myself. Also, Libbie gave me a heads up about the nice complement from Aunt Jenny. Thanks again.

Michele, thank you for your kind words. I'm looking forward to getting to know you too and the other farmgirls on this site. Also, I want to take this opportunity to thank cajungal for her gift of yeast starter! It came indirectly through Aunt Jenny to Libbie to me. A wonderful gift is sourdough starter! It is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I've so far made some dandy griddle cakes with it and now two batches of wholegrain french bread. Yum! Thank you. By the way...in case I want to share it, how did you ship it through the mail?

Hello All,
I want to thank my neighbor and fellow farmgirl, Libbie, for her kind words about my me and my garden. Thank you, Libbie.
Libbie is an inspiration to me. She lives in a farmhouse built by her great grandfather - her ancestral home - and has acreage and family history right where she lives! It is wonderful to watch how her farm is evolving. Libbie is a true farmgirl at heart!

To my sister-writer, Sue, I see you are from the Ozarks! My family on my grandmother's (dad's mom) is from the Ozarks too. I've been to the site of the family farm once...near Berryville on the Missouri/Arkansas border. The farmhouse burnt down in the early 1900's and all that is left is the grist mill and melted glass from the house. Arkansas is a beautiful State! I checked out your websites and love your photos and information...and Duck and Duckie! There are some pictures of my home and gardens on my etsy shop website. My home is a 1902 Folk Victorian farmhouse. Most of the land, all but 1/3 to 1/2 acre was sold off years before I bought the place. I live in Central Utah about one half block from our Libbie's farm. Great to hear from you!
Also, thank you to everyone who is reading/looking for my grape article. I also make some dandy rhubarb wine and will happily share the recipe with anyone who would like to make some. The wine is best very chilled and served as a dessert wine or with Asian food.
