Great Job on the Specialty Mail-Art Monica and Linda!!!

When is your event again CJ? Praying the cards encourage those
participating. They run and walk for each of US!

Hey Peggy,

The actual breast cancer walk event is September 11-12. It does start, however, with "Event Eve" on Friday the 10th where ALL participants check in, pick up credentials, equipment and supplies (for crew) and meet and greet. There will be some walkers who will be scrambling to raise the last of their required funds. There will be participants, both crew and walkers, for which this is a VERY, VERY PERSONAL event! There is no breast cancer that we are aware of in our family, but Robin and I have been committed to at least one big event per year for the past 6 years.

We walk when we feel like we can raise the required funds, which is a challenge. And the training is VERY, VERY time consuming!!! But when we can't walk we crew and participate in that capacity. Crewing is hard work . . . we usually "hit the wall" on Sunday night after it's all over. But the rewards . . . WOW!!!!!!!!

So, yes, prayers are very much in order for all involved!!!! Robin and I feel like we DO have an impact with the walkers in our crew opportunities!!! And doing these things together . . with my one and only daughter . . .well, I cannot tell you what the means!! We are not only mom and daughter, we are BEST FREINDS!!! WE HAVE AN AWESOME RELATIONSHIP and FRIENDSHIP . . .and WE HAVE THE MOST, MOST, MOST FUN!!!!!!

Thanks girls!!!!
YOU ARE ALL APPRECIATED!!!

Dear Mail Artists,

Thought I'd share a photo of Robin and me at the finish line for the AVON Walk For Breast Cancer event from June of 2009. This was the Rocky Mountains event right here in Colorado, my home state. We walked that event . . . 26.2 miles on Saturday and 13.1 miles on Sunday . . the ENTIRE distance. Between just the two of us we raised $4000!!!

Nope, no blisters!!!! Nope, no injuries!!!
YUP . . sweaty!! YUP . . . BLESSED!!!!

Thanks for looking!! Will be sharing photos from this year with you, of course!!! Your mail art will be out there

The background to the left says "For 2 days we walked as 1"

CJ...thanks for sharing all that and I loved the Photo. Great Mom/Daughter Picture and so
cool that you two are committed to these events each year. It is people like you that make
a difference for Breast Cancer Research...and all the thousands upon thousands of other women
and men who are out there going the distance for those who can't.

When I worked and Managed a Christian Book Store...we use to do a Breast Cancer fund raiser...where
I would allow my employees to Have a Blue Jean Day (not the usual casual Friday) but for $5.00 they
could buy the right to wear Jeans on any day they chose to and then that money went for Breast Cancer
Awareness. That was such an easy way to do just a little bit to help. It wasn't the hard work you guys
go through...but IF everyone did something it would make a huge difference wouldn't it?

And yes, we want to see the pictures from this years event!!! Our prayers and thoughts will be with you
as you minister to weary bodies, tired feet and achy muscles all for a GREAT CAUSE!

blessings,
~peggy

What she (Ceejay, my mom) said!
Thank you all for your encouraging words and of course, the mail art to share on our events! Can't wait to add that to our decor!
How did this start? October is my birth month...I wanted to give for my birthday! October is also breast cancer awareness month! That's how I wanted to give for my birthday! So Mom and I began our annual journey October 2004 with the Race for the Cure in Phoenix! And we haven't stopped since! What a thrill and a privilege!!!

CeeJay and Robin,
Thanks for the inspirational story. Isn't it great to be such good friends with your mom/daughter, you kinda remind me of my daughters and myself. Keep up the friendship and the great work you do together!
