Here's the link to the mailart that MJF has received: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/MailArt/
We’ve been exchanging mail for six years now!! The range of masterpieces we’ve traded has been amazing…some arrive garnished in buttons, ribbon, photographs, etc. and some are simply a beautiful postcard from somewhere I’ve never ventured but love to know of.
Receiving real mail is such a thing of the past, but not around here! So for those of you who’d love to swap mail art with some like-minded people…
Let’s officially start ‘er back up!
The cool thing about mail art is that you don't have to think up one-liners to send to a complete stranger. And it's not as committed as a pen pal. All you have to do is decorate a post card (or scrap of cardboard and call it a postcard) or an envelope and send it off once a month. Found objects, bits of blurry photos you were going to toss when you purged your photo box, your best friend's favorite saying - the sky is the limit.
So...here's the info from ceejay48
So-o-o-o-o let's get started by: FIRST THING: post to the forum you wish to participate AND email me with your info including: - forum name - "real" name - complete mailing address
SECOND THING: get started on you first mail art project
We can get things rolling so that we can mail our first art project for the month of APRIL.
As described in Meg's post, you will mail to a DIFFERENT farmgirl each month. I will email you those names each month as we go.
Sign-ups will be perpetual - meaning you can "jump in" any time and get going for the next month.
Let's have some fun!! THANKS! CJ
A huge thanks to ceejay48 for coordinating this fabulous Mail Art! Have fun!
MaryJane's daughter, Meg

"Shalom Poet", "LadyDarcy" and "jennyann" . . WELCOME TO ALL OF YOU!!!
It is too late for the AUGUST Mail Art "round" as those names went out to artists 2 weeks ago and mail out deadline is coming up!
But that will give you plenty of time to browse around here in the forum, see what's been happening, check out the pics, etc., etc., etc.
ALL OF YOU will be receiving "hard copy" of guidelines in the mail. This is so you can have it right handy and you won't have to try to find it here in the forum thread. Be as creative as you want . . . it just has to make it through the mail!!! HAVE FUN!!! Again, WELCOME! CJ

Good morning all! I understand that I am to late to get in on this mail-art. All good! Gives me a chance to gather up my creative whim & see what my whimsy side comes up with. May your day be filled with tender moments & grace. And some wild abandon thrown in for your creative side!
You become your enviroment so make it a good one. Make it beautiful with your love.*** LadyDarcy*** |

SNEAK PREVIEW for 2011:
Thought I'd put this out there for your Mail Art-ists to be thinking about:
- we will have MAIL ART "Rounds" for: SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, NOVEMBER of 2010 (December names will go out at the end of November so you can do your Christmas art for that round)
- there will be NO "round" for January (names/addreses would go out at end of December) We will take that month off to regroup. The first "round" for 2011 would be for February, with names and addresses being sent to you the end of January.
- if you wish to STAY in MAIL ART for 2011 you will need to let me know THEN: (not yet please, I'm not ready to start THAT list yet) - I will send you a reminder email at the end of 2010 so you can respond THEN
Soooooo . . .that's the plan!! In the meantime, enjoy the soon-to-be-here opportunities for fall mail art. You gals are AWESOME!!! CJ

Thank you to Peggy from Utah for my beautiful mail package that she sent to me. Peggy made the cutest handbag out of bright and cheery red paper with a red ribbon handle and super cute red heart with black trim closer on the front. Inside she put a little note and explained that she collects old jewelry and that the heart shaped closer on the front is actually an old earing. She also included another very cute card in striking colors of royal blue with black and white polka dot accent paper and happy little yellow butterfly. Annnnnd to top it all of she sent me a County Travel Guide from the area that she is from. I just love it all! Thank you!
