Very handsome roo, Nadine. What's his name? And the girls look nice and fluffy. I don't think I've ever seen a blue Buff. What do the hens look like?

Nadine, he's gorgeous. I've never even heard of the Orp! I admire all of the roosters at the fairs each year but have not seen those!

This is Bo Cathisa. Above rooster's brother. I can tell them apart by feather markings they each have.
I am big on Indian names since most of my family has Native American in them. Mom-Comanche Dad-French Canadian Chook..Hubby-Cherokee- Hubby's dad is mixed but don't know what tribe. He was adopted by a white couple when the babies were taken away from Native Americans way back in the 1920's during some kind of weird notion that they couldn't take care of their babies right up in Oklahoma.

Thank you, I am fixing to have their breeding cage fixed up for them to live in for awhile so I know who he has been with...lol..it is a 4 x 8 standing cage with 4 rooms. Each of my hens will have their own room to be in after they mate with my roosters. That way, I know that the other hens can't lay their eggs in with others. I have had 2 hens lay together until their chicks were born and seems to know which chicks was theirs..lol..don't want that to happened again..too confusing for me to deal with.

Where did you find this breed!?
I have been searching for 2 years!
Saw them at our state fair in 2008 and haven't seen them since.
I have 2 buffs and love the breed for their sweet personality and great egg production
Best wishes! |
