I am pretty new here, just got my Sister Pkt in mail yesterday. But, I am SO inspired by everyone here. This morning, I actually got up at 4 to make bread (first time to try) so it would be ready for breakfast! How has the forum inspired you?

It most certainly has inspired me! I have gotten back into my crafts, meaning I see to it that I have my time, to do something for me. And joining in on the book clubs and discussions are great. It's got me thinking more about how I can change the way I eat and going green around the house. Also writing letters to others, something that was left behind since the email came along. I really enjoy sitting down and writing and love receiving mail that you know someone has taken the time to do. The list just goes on and on. You will love you journey through all the forums. Have fun and a wonderful day!

...it is inspiring me to get back to who I truly am! ...back to baking, sewing, crafting, writing, growing things...being a happy at home housewife. It has been a long time (too long) that I did those things that really made me HAPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! One could say, that I am gettin my groove back!
Thanks to MaryJane and all of Mary Janes Farmgirls!

It has inspired me to get off my rear end and start doing things I'd dreampt about-like taking up fiddle, getting into the yard more, learning about how to cook better or make items that I need (like aprons & pot holders) rather than just buying them. Gets a fire in your belly,it does!

I agree with all of you. This group is helping me get back to me. I just need to figure out managing my time between homeschooling with my girls, going to college myself, being a homemaker and a homesteader. I love "hanging out with you ladies". I finally feel like I've found a family who "gets it"!

Blessings,

I think we are all an insperation to each other. Just knowing we can talk about how we live and things that we do. If we have questions there is someone out there to tell how its done, and understand what we are talking about. Its just being able to say this is how I live and glad that you are. Vicki

I agree with everyone I have started back to doing the things that I really enjoy. I have learned to make my own laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent and have the sour dough bread starter up on my counter and am excited to try my first loaf tomorrow. I think it is wonderful being able to share ideas, recipes and prayers with so many ladies who have similiar values and ideas.

I was losing momentum on my Farmgirl lifestyle (tiring of being the "odd girl out" with my friends.) Now, I feel like I'm re-charged and ready to jump back into things, the only problem now is trying to decide what to tackle first!

I hung out 2 loads of wash today, and made a batch of sweet dough. I made the yummiest cherry cheese coffee cake and cinnimon rolls.

It's all good!

I'm inspired to try to do things that I want to do no matter what...I'm very people shy and get tongue tied in groups, But I want a farm girl chapter and fellowship with other farm girls...so I'm taking a deep breath and jumping in with both feet and started the Palouse Prairie Girls chapter just a few days ago and am now setting about making member welcome packets! I love to cook and sew and garden and have found so much information on bringing new joy to these craft...This is the most amazing place and I'm jumpin in and plowin thru!

It has inspired me to try new things. I've been inspired to start looking for new patterns for crocheting and knitting. I'm also going to try and do a small garden this year without any help.

Good for you, Megan! Isn't amazing what a magazine/forum can do? I am doing the same. Just bought my seeds and am going to do a vegie garden for the first time in YEARS. I am working on trying out for several badges, including the Going Green one. I am inspired to "up" my knitting, buy green and organic products, crochet, embroider, and sew. I am making time for myself to do my craft products instead of just wishing I could. And, I've made new friends, including my penpal. I think MaryJane is a genius!

I agree with all of you!! I am inspired to simplify my home, bring back simple pleasures, and do more by hand, and less with machines. (except for the dishwasher and washing machine!) I am air drying more clothes, which takes longer when done indoors due to rain! I want to make bread by hand, not the bread machine. I think a vase of homegrown flowers would look better on the shelf than a bulky metal box. I want to make more of my cleaning products, and I will be canning and dehydrating more foods this year. I am so grateful to have all of you as a resource! I never had a sister, always wanted one. Now I belong to a huge family of sisters!

I realized the other day that doing things the "Farmgirl" way is deeply satisfying to my soul. Growing a garden, cooking from scratch, hanging clothes on the line, crafting, etc. just makes me feel "right" with the world.

Thanks Nicole! It's great for you too. I think that Mary Jane has inspired everyone who reads about her in one way or another. I've also made new friends, though they are much older than me (I'm 14).

Megan,
I am impressed that you are gardening, knitting and crocheting at your age! Keep it up! I hope to inspire my daughter to learn those kinds of things, too.

It has inspired me to try gardening again. I live in south Texas and it is very hot to get out in the summer and garden. It has also inspired me to get back into crocheting and knitting. I have always done a lot of sewing, but I had pretty much given everything else up as living in the burbs and the housing restrictions we have hinders a lot. Now I am hoping to move to a farm and get back to being me rather than trying to fit in with the folks around here that spend all their spare time trying to control their neighbors.
