Has anyone noticed migraines or severe headaches after having had a baby? I've been fighting mine for a week and they range from the dull aching kind to the lay flat on my back with my head covered migraines. Could this be part of the hormone changes?
Any suggestions to alleviate them?

YES YES YES I grew out of mine so just keep your chin up I had the worst ones after having the girls. I still get them but a couple of tylenol and a few minutes in the quiet and I am ok. Try to watch what you eat my triggers are shell fish and chocolate. Not enough sleep and then too much sleep will trigger them. Check with dr but I was told magnesium and vit D can help. My all time favorite food to eat when I have one is Mcdonalds I think it is all the salt.

I didn't have them with my kids but my daughter has them with her period. They can be hormonal. She gets them really bad and only when she has her period. The dr. put her on birth control and they stopped. So I am sure any hormonal change could trigger one.

You didn't by chance have the anesthetic injected in the soine did you? (darned if I can think of the name!) that can cause severe headaches. If not it may well be hormonal. If they keep up call your Dr. and see what he says.

It happened to me after the birth of my daughter. I have to say I had them off and on for years (before and after childbirth) before my period and when I took birth control pills. You might want to call your Dr. if it doesnt get better. Good luck....

After my last C-Section (13-years ago) I had a whopper of a migraine almost immediately and you know what the night nurse loaded me up on? Mountain Dew of all things--- I must have had 8-cans in 2-hours----I finally ended up getting a shot in the butt with some Toredal.
I never had a migraine after my hysterectomy 7 years ago---mine were definitely estrogen related.

Melody~ The nurses did the same thing to me. I had a killer one which they said could be from the anestethia wearing off from the epidural. They gave me can after can of RC Cola. Finally, they settled for some Darvocet which helped. Now I am home, though and Darvocet isn't something I want to take on a regular basis. They come and go. I know my hormones are all over the place because one day I am a normal person and the next I am a raging monster from the pit--bluh!! Charlie is 3 weeks old, and I've never had it take so long for hormones to flux back. Hoping hard that hormones will settle back soon. The headaches, everlasting period, and weird sleep patterns are making me a not so nice Mommy, though I am trying to reign in the beast! lol I wouldn't give back Charlie for anything (even normal hormones) but phew!! lol Thank you all so much for your encouragment! hugs Jessie
