I have a friend who had it done about 8 years ago. She's always said she wondered why she waited so long to have it done. Life has been much easier for her since!

Had one 12 years ago. Lightened the flow but did not stop it. It was heaven knowing that a mini pad could be used instead of those heavy duty extra long ones. Good luck!!!!

I know 3 people who have had it done. Two of them have no period anymore and my daughter has only like a brown stain now. All 3 of them flowed so heavy ot was awful. My daughter was anemic because of it. So, yes I would say it certainly does help. It takes about 2 to 3 days to feel completely up to par. Mostly it is crampy pain. Extra strength tylenol took care of it for my daughter. Hope this helped.

Had one about 12 years ago and at that time I was put completely under. Do take it easy for the first few weeks as they say. I jumped right back and went on with my life and ended up hemoraging and nearly blead to death (seriously), but if you asked me if I would do it again-you bet I would. For the first 5-6 years I had nothing. Now I have a real light flow, but I will take that any day over what it was before!!
I had one done when I had my assure implants put in (a pure nickel coil placed in my tubes for permanent birth control. The tubes scar down on them preventing ovulation. Less invasive than getting my tubes tied. Had that done 3 years ago. poblems.) : no problems with ablation. It was done with very strong saline I believe.

I had one. After giving birth to 5 very large babies (biggest was 10 lbs. 14 oz.), I had extremely heavy flow, and didn't even want to leave the house.
I use panty liners now (Yay!) Although, after it's done, you risk bleeding to death if you ever do get pregnant again. My doctor suggested "no more babies" after that.
