Not sure why they are always called Hat boxes, because I don't have a hat in any of mine. Anyway posted a picture of what is in one of mine.

Thanks Rene, I always keep an eye out for them at the thrift and garage sales. They are good for lots of things.

I actually have a hatbox that has a hat in it. I wear it quite often in the winter. It is called a Jane Austen hat. I got it from Victorian Trading company. I Love hat boxes. they are so good for many things.

me too! in fact I just got their most recent cataloge on Sat....and already have some items earmarked....
I do buy from them, in fact I posted a picture of a brown sweater (katmom blog)that I purchased from them.
Luv the hankies in your hat box, especially the ones in their origional boxes. SCORE!

Nancy- you remind me of my step aunt... the very first time I went to her(and her name is Nancy too!) house I was amazed at the baskets, boxes, etc. she had all over the house. I loved it! Imagine my surprise when I got nosy and started poking around and in.... she actually kept things in every single one of them! I was surprised and inspired to do the same thing myself. Now I buy baskets and boxes, not just for how they look, but for what I can keep in them!
I love your blog! You decorate how I would love to! :)

oh Nancy, I love Victorian Trading company... I dream from that book and treat myself to something special when I can...such beautiful items.
Brenda I am like you too I love boxes and baskets and use them for many things besides decoration...you never know what you will find in them.

hahaha! hey Nancy jo, it's 1/2 way down, just past the pink rag rug, titled "Signs of Autum" the funny thing is, it doesn't look anything like the one in the catalog...which is proof that my photography skills ate truly lacking! lol!

Nancy Jo -- I love the hat box and goodies. I also scrolled down and saw the Time Life Book. I have it too, in fact, I have that whole series. I've often thought of getting rid of it, but not sure if someone wants it without the 'women' books, because I would definitely keep those! Girl, I love your blog!

I am laughing right now because in my lap I have my computer, my dog and my Victoria Trading Co catalog! that must mean I should buy something!!! I want to order the black crushed velvet hat! Too funny
