Just got back from town, went to the chicken coop and my hen has hatched babies. They are little banty chicks. They look like little bees. Not important but cute. Vicki
Wow, I can hardly imagine chicks this time of year. And that is important. How neat. How many hatched? You probably can't tell yet, though. Those banty's are mean when it comes to their chicks.
The moms are so good but with attitude for sure! Guess they have to make up for their small size
Our Silkie hatched 3 last week. I pulled them and put them under a brooder so they would be used to people
The hen is still setting so I may pull more eggs today or tomorrow and indulge her. That's a lot of setting, but if that's all she wants to do, well, might as well put it to good use!

Well I have four babies. I had to move the hen down because she was up in the second floor hen nest. Courage is moving a new mom and babies. There was a lot of growling. It did get done. Now I have another hen sitting. I wonder if its because it has been warm here in washington. Vicki
