Do have a day where you just bake? I try and get it all done on Saturday or sunday.

We eat about 3 loaves of bread a week but I don't like ot bake it all at one time. I don't use any dough conditioners in our bread and I'll say that after sitting for 2-3 days it starts to get "old." I guess that's why day old bread in bakery's are cheaper. It starts to lose something fairly quickly! :)

I generally bake on Saturday, I clean and cook all day Saturday, it is how I relax and wind down from the previous week. On Sunday I "shop" for the week. I go to the freezers and the canned food and plan a few menus for the week ahead.

I don't really have a certain day that I bake. I make homemade cornbread at times throughout the week and usually bake something sweet whenever we are in the mood for something special.

HELP! Does anyone make sourdough? I want to, and so I started the starter on my counter, but forgot to feed it for a day or two. I fed it today, but I wonder...should I dump it and start all over? or should I just add an extra day of feeding before I use it?

Thanks!

I start my bread "sponges" on Sunday night and then bake all day Monday. Mondays are also "beans and rice" day, so there's a big pot of beans cooking.
Any bread that gets "old" or dry gets turned into crumbs or bread pudding. (yum)

Holly, I'll email you about your starter.

One of the best compliments from one of my daughters: "Moma, you smell good...like dirt."
