I am all tied up in French Knots !! I am doing some quilt blocks with flowers and butterflies on them Talking about French Knots !! I have loads and loads to do . I enjoy them; but there are loads. Question; When you make your French Knots Do you anchor with 2 stitches or just the one I decided since it was going in a quilt I would do 2 . it is more secure that way. http://www.createforless.com/Clover+Needle+Threader+Embroidery/pid135683.aspx?SI=7ba6e24e-db6c-4aee-ae3d-e48d951ef485 I brought the clover needle threader and it is a big help with threading the needles.
I adore doing french knots. If I could do a better bullion stitch it would come in second to my most favorite stitch..french knots. I must say I have never anchored any french knot. Do you do this from the bottom of the knot/fabric?

Sheila I don't anchor my french knots either. I did a baby blanket a couple years ago and it had over 200 french knots, needless to say I was pretty darn tired of them by the time it was finished, but it was pretty. Kathy
When you finish making you French Knots go through it again, this will make a flat French Knot It is sorta something I came up with to secure the knot and make it falter in appearnce Kathy I bet the baby blanket was beautiful ! R. B I do it from the top like you are doing another one only go through the one you did another time. It secures it and makes it flat. I love the bullion stitch I have made jewelry with it and it makes pretty stitches. hugs sheila
I must admit what I like the most about the french knot is how it stands up from the fabric. The only time I pull extra thread thru the knot is when I am adding a bead to it - like if it were inside of a flower. I do hope you will post a picture of all your wonderful french knots. I would love to see them now or later. French knots are good anytime :-)
