. . . and get rid of the bathroom scales!!!!
I had to get up and head for town to pick up our son to spend the day with us. We got snow overnight so that meant sweeping off the car and shoveling the path to the car. Well I got up, got myself together and went out to do that.
Turned around . . .when finished . . .to see my hubby standing on the path in his shorts, barefoot asking me how many inches there were.
Well, it's GREAT snow for snowballs . . . yup, he got plastered!!!!
YAY!!!!

I don't even own a scales! A woman's weight changes so much that it's distressing. Your DH sounds like mine. Crazy men. hahahahaha Good for you! I woulda done the same thing! lol

What other "spunky old broad" things have been going on to celebrate!!!
We need to get our "queens" some crowns!!!!
I had to work 12 hr. shift today . . .again tomorrow . . . the best I can do is just be me.
Still have more month to celebrate!!!

I'm back on my feet again! Actually I wasn't down for too long, thankfully my bones must be strong not to have broken anything! :)
Today I did a Spunky Old Broad thing... a silly little thing, but big for me.
I had a crown fall off my tooth 2 days ago. I hate the dentist. I had a terrible experience when I was young, and had to have a lot of work done once I hit 40. I haven't been in over 2 years. So, I bit the bullet and went today to have my crown put back on. Also, made an appointment for a cleaning and x-rays, and to have a 3/4 crown put on another tooth. Maybe not a big deal to some, but for me it was. I could feel my blood pressure going up and up while I was in that chair.
I also drove there in a snow storm, another "spunky" thing for me to do. I will do anything not to drive in the snow, but you know what? I did it, and I was fine!
This is a new dentist, and he was very kind and friendly, so maybe, just maybe, I will go every 6 months like I'm supposed to!
Making plans for other crazy things to do this month.....
What are you all doing to celebrate??!!!

Yeaaaaa....Brenda's back at it! And yeaaaaa, she did a BRAVE thing. I too use to fear the dentist until I met this sweet, gentle man that put me at ease by talking to me first and being kind. I had horribly crooked teeth as a child and had some awful visits and dental work done. Lots of blood and scarey times. AND found out that I'm allergic to novacaine. So now I use relaxing herbs and ibuprofen and all is right. Good for you Brenda. Lots and Lots of Hugs & Squeezles to you!

I'm trying to catch up with you all!! :)
I have some ideas for the rest of the month, but I have to tell you this....
Husband came home tonight with some oysters. He loves oysters, but I had sent him to the store for veal to have tomorrow night, he came home with no veal but 1/2 dozen oysters.
Now, I have never in my life ate any raw seafood at all. Never. Ever. I grew up with a doctor dad who was constantly telling us about the hazards of eating raw seafood. So I just never wanted to. Besides the fact that I was sure they would still be alive and wriggling when I ate them.
So tonight I looked at one of those oysters- I will say it was not moving at all, was quite still in its shell, and thought.....WHY NOT??!!!
Of course Husband happily shelled one for me, lovingly squeezed on lemon juice and dotted it with horseradish sauce, while the whole time I am regretting what I said.
But then I thought- "hey it's spunky old broads month, and I am definitely a spunky old broad"
So down the hatch it went, and you know what??? It was so good I had another!!!!

I got a Valentine today from Gena "SouthernCrossGirl" which is the BEST "Spunky Old Broad" Valentine.
Picture of a lady who would qualify doing her laundry at laundromat holding up a pair of PINK panties. The caption is: "These are the ones I'm going to throw at Justin Timberlake."
Inside it says: "It's Valentine's Day, so wear your good panties just in case".
Now that is right up my alley!!!!
