I want to get a jump on flies when the weather warms up. Any ideas on how to keep them at bay? I tried the fly trap bags last summer and they work really well - at attracting all the flies in the neighborhood! I had swarms of them and then I couldn't get rid of the bags because I had to catch them all.

We also have used fly predators for the past three years, what a BIG difference! They are tiny predatory wasps that eat the fly larvae. They do not bother the animals at all. They are really too tiny to bite. We get ours from http://www.spalding-labs.com They set you up with a schedule and ship them through the mail. I highly recommend using them.

they are where i get mine too. i found they reproduce really well. you can do the same with ponds and tanks for mosquitoes. it is a bacteria in a floating donut. the bacteria invade the egg and destroy it. just really safe easy ways to handle those icky flies. sherrye

If you want a commical fly getter, get Muscovy ducks and let them free range, they are great for flies.

Hi friend Teresa. Happy to see you back online with us. Two of the farmgirls asked about you; Cheneygal (Suzie) from WA. and Kris (Kristin Sherrill) from GA. They were both a bit concerned that you were with us for a while. Check out the weather site and see their replies. Nice to have you back. Marly
