I am not sure who came up with that name, but I have to say, I do not find it highly motivating to be called the "biggest loser in town" however; I did join the biggest loser contest at our local gym. I am glad, as it has certainly put to great that old questions, "do I like to exercise?" it is a resounding NO... none of it... well, I do like ZUMBA (a Latin dance class), but since we actually have a large percentage of Latina women in the class that can really dance.. I feel more like the court jester... but, Oh well... I hear laughter is good medicine so I feel like I am providing a community service.
We have a guy on our team (the yellow team) who did this last year too and REALLY wants to win this year…So; he pushes me, which is EXACTLY what I need. However, I really do need Julian Michaels yelling in my face and pushing me until I drop.
I am sure I will continue to write about it on the blog. www.maryjanesfarm.org/RFBlog.. Something tells me “this aint gunna be pretty”.
Please tell me I am not the ONLY farmgirl out there who has to face this stupid weight issue…AGAIN!! And whose idea was it to have New Year's Resolutions… or as one farmgirl said.. New Year’s Solutions?????

Oh I love that show because it is actually a "real" reality show. Hang in there, it will get easier I promise. Just remember not to put so much pressure on yourself and it will become less of a burden and more enjoyable. Good luck and keep us posted. Jamie

I am right there with ya. Before this last summer began I was working out 5 days a week between 1-2 hours!! I was in awesome shape. Then we started getting really short on money and to help pay for my girls sports I started working at the gym and got a free membership . Well that has turned into 5 days a week now plus I babysit for a friend of mine so now I don't work out at all!! Nothing fits, things that were too big are now on the verge of being too small. How sad is that....I work at a gym and don't have time to work out..hmmm. I feel your pain though, I'm depressed about my weight but all we can do is take it one day at a time and do our best. Good luck with it!!

I find it so sad to see those fellows weighing in at 500+ lbs. That has got to be so hard on their knees, not to mention their lungs and heart. I weigh just a little more than when I graduated high school at 143, now at 162 and I'm 67 years of age. I would not miss losing another 10 lbs. The only way the "contestants" are able to lose those massive amounts of weights is the fact that they have nothing else at the moment to worry about except that weight loss, though I am sure they worry about their families at home and getting sent home.
