I was just talking to a friend who has 2 Jersey's she's milking. She sells alot of the milk but sometimes has quite a lot left. I told her she needs to be making cheese. She then asked how much whey are you left with and what to do with it all. I said she could save it to use in her bread and a few other things.

So what do ya'll do with the whey when you make cheese? I need ideas to tell my friend so she'll start making cheese.

Thanks, Kris

Believe it or not, chickens LOVE whey...weird, I know. And it goes without saying that whey makes pigs thinks they've died and gone to heaven LOL

hi kris, also you need the whey to make ricotta cheese. also when you make mozzerella cheese you can store the cheese in the whey to keep it fresher. and yes i raise pigs and poultry and they all see me coming with the bucket and here they come running. you can add it to compost. not too much.just a thought sherrye
