I was just perusing the Salt Lake Tribune and reading again some of the articles that MaryJane has written. I especially love this one from the 16th- Let's Talk Tea!

Thanks so much for posting this Alee. I am not a tea drinker but am trying to convince myself I should start for the health benefits. This article is very interesting and informative.

Mmm...I love a good tea. We have a nice place called Chocolatea down the road that sells wonderful loose leaf teas and chocolate. I buy from them often, but I also make my own chai mix from Frontier tea/spices. I'd really love to grow my own tea garden, but I don't know if I'm going to be able to get to that this year because I have such grand plans for so many other thins LOL!

Oh a tea garden sounds wonderful! I'm not a big mint lover though so I wonder what other varieties I could grow?

Thank you so much for sharing this link, Alee! Love tea, and thus love reading anything tea related. Or anything by our own Queen Bee. :)

Nice article. I'm tea crazy! I love loose teas and the best strainer i've found is stainless and sits in my cup (no little balls or handled spoons). One of my favorite decaf black teas is apricot arabesque from tealuxe.com, the rest i buy locally here. I may try planting a tea plant this year, if i can find one. At one point I read that we had a decent chance here of growing it. I just couldn't get through a day without my "tea".

I'm not sure if my body is changing, or what, buy my taste for tea isn't as strong as it used to be. I still love a good black tea, with cream (like English or Irish Breakfast or something along those lines) but herbal teas just sort of leave me flat anymore. I still drink them, but I'm rarely satisfied. I think it's a "body" thing...I don't drink coffee all day, but I do in the a.m and it's "thicker" somehow? Does that make sense? I'm hoping I'll like it again because we have some wonderful ones in the house right now from Christmas, but maybe like other things, you go through phases....

Jonni, I'm finding the same thing about herbal teas. In my case, I think at 62 my taste buds are starting to fail me. I'm noticing that even spicy Mexican food seems bland now. I'm even doubling up on my herbal teas, trying to get the same punch as in the past. I even add pepper and nutmet to my chai tea mixes to boost the flavor.

The morning breeze has secrets to tell you. Do not go back to sleep.

That's really interesting, Melina...I'm 36, and I think for me, it's a combination--I had a baby 11 months ago, and my hormones are still getting back in line, and it "seems" that everything I ate/drank/loved when I was pregnant with Violet just sounds completely unappetizing. I drank a lot of herbal teas, and an organic pregnancy tea with blackberry leaf, but now I can't even stand the smell of Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime or their Chamomile. I thought smell aversions were supposed to happen DURING pregnancy, not after :)

I hadn't thought of the chai route...I might have to go that way to get some flavor. The pepper sounds like a great addition!

Loved the article Alee! I love just about any tea. Favorite memories are having tea and sharing stories with my friend, Debbie. She's a tea lover also.

Jonni- the aversions can happen afterwards as well- like you said- your hormones are still balancing out. I noticed my tastes changed after pregnancy and now I am starting to get back to enjoying things again that I enjoyed before and during pregnancy that were not so appetizing afterwards!

That's really interesting, Alee...and none of the books I read while expecting even mentioned what happens AFTERWARDS! Just the few weeks after delivery. I've been experiencing a HOST of things, ever evolving! Glad to know it gets back to normal, like it did for you. I miss spaghetti and meat balls (even though I think I don't!) :)
