I just made my donation to redcross.org for the Haiti Relief Fund. I urge all my farm sisters to help out these poor impoverished people in their time of dire need ... even if its only $5.

Hey Sharon . . . we will be donating as well, but through the Samaritan's Purse and/or World Vision organizations. What a terrible situation!!! We support both of those organizations on a regular basis anyway and try to do extra for these kinds of situations.

Thanks for the reminder!

I donated through ELCA, or the Lutheran Church. They have relief on its way.
Just a word of caution. Be very careful that if you donate through the Red Cross to go through the site Sharon mentions above. Unfortunately, there are scum out there that will try to make their site look like the Red Cross & steal our donations.

I have heard that you can send Haiti boxes through the UPS for free up to 50 lbs...
After the craziness of the Red Cross and Katrina, I am trying to think of other ways...
I love this idea and hope it is true.

I saw that as well Brooke, and one of the airlines are letting doctors and nurses fly free to Haiti. Wonderful how everyone pulls together at a time like this.

UPS is shipping anything under 50lbs for free to Haiti. You can send food, clothes, or shoes...and American Airlines is taking doctors and nurses to Haiti for free. Please call 212-697-9767. Spread the word...Red Cross needs Creole speaking volunteers for a 24hr phone bank. Call Mr. Wilfrid @ 305-776-6900

We have some local community members that are from Haiti- they are still trying to contact their families. I can't even imagine the horror and destruction. I wish I could go over and help!
