Good morning ladies! Gratefully, my husband did some of the dishes last night. When he did so, he left one of my cookie sheets to dry on top of my favorite bamboo cutting board. When I went to put the dry cookie sheet away this morning I found my cutting board underneath now with dark moldy/mildew spots on it.

The cutting board is used for cutting fruits, vegetables, and breads only.

Soap and water scrubbing don't seem to clean it off. Any cleaning suggestions that do not involve bleach? We don't touch the stuff. Thanks!!!

You could try vinegar. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant but it won't get rid of the spots :(

Try rubbing it with a sliced lemon half and see what happens.

You could always sand the surface and get rid of the top layer.

I spritz my cutting board with hydrogen peroxide after each use. I bet it would your situation too! Just screw a spray bottle top onto the peroxide bottle and have at it.

We had a similar incident at our house a few months ago. Unfortunately I had to throw it away due to horrible warping. It was sad. I cried :p
