Because we associate little Violet with owls (she continues to hoot like one, and seems to only be attracted to bunnies :)) we found an invite for her 1st birthday (already!!!) but I'm struggling with the wordage...

I'd like to incorporate the word "Whoooo" as in "Guess Whooooo's One????" or something like that. I have multiple versions, that latest reading, "Whoooo's already One???? How the time does fly...please join us in celebrating..."

Any help or suggestions is much appreciated!

How about, "If you can guess whoooo's turning one, owl invite you over for tons of fun!" or something like that. I did a cute little applique on a tee for a little girl a couple months ago with a couple of owls and embroidered, "Owl Love you Forever". It turned out so cute. I <3 Owls...what a fun party theme!

Thanks, so much Siobhan--my closest friend in school was called Siobhan, by the way :) And, I know Battle Creek quite well...I went to school in Michigan, at Interlochen.

What great uses of the words. I'm creative, but I get this massive road block when it comes to my little one, and trying to make everything "perfect"...

I'm attaching a pic of her Owl costume for Halloween...

Also, do you have any etsy site or some way that I could peruse your designs? Might just have to have you recreate that owl applique for Violet Mae :)

Awe Jonni...she is adorable and that costume is exceptional! I have not attempted any costumes for my little ones yet. I don't have an etsy shop yet. I used to sell on hyenacart.com at a shop called iCrave, but I quit before Truman was born 6 months ago and have decided not to reopen there because when I do get back into the swing of things I'd rather sell on Etsy becase t's a bigger market. So, that said, the only place you can see my stuff right now is on my flicker photostream which is a mess of all kinds of projects and family photos. Take a look if you've got time ) http://www.flickr.com/photos/23109319@N04/

You'll see the owlie applique right on the first page.

Thanks, Sarah! She's our joy, that's for sure! I'm still working on it--planning to order tomorrow evening, so I have to "finalize" things today. Should be cute, regardless.
