I figure people do make them homemade... i'd like to phase out frozen store bought ones because of HFCS. Anyone have a good recipe? How do you get them in "tot" form?

I LOVE tater tots. Especially with cheese all over them. I hope someone knows this one.

I saw this recipe http://www.budget101.com/recipes/ppid830.htm - but by reading the recipe it didn't seem to me that the texture would be the same. I was going to try this with red potatoes and let them cool and then chunk them up to the texture of tater tots. If anyone tries these, let us know how they came out.

yeah, they cook the potatoes first... though that could be good, too! like mashed potatoe tater tots! maybe if you just finely cubed them raw and did the rest?

Kristin, cheese tots are also my guilty pleasure... my fave "bad" snack as of late! yum!
