My, my, it sure is a lovely summer day.The smell of the newly mown grass, a perfect temperature, not too hot. There's a lite breeze, just enough to be delicious as it ruffles the linens. The birds are singing ever-so-sweetly and... what was that....a rooster? What a delight. She hadn't heard a rooster crow in ages. It made her think of her Grams farm where she played as a girl, freely running, playing with the animals, watching Gramps milk the old Jersey cow, Buttercup, and getting dirty and just having so much fun. Nice memory.Nice daydream.

**POP** bursts the daydream bubble** as Miss Judy turns at the sound of quick footsteps behind her. It's her sister, Miss Patsy, dressed in a sapphire blue velvet gown,trimmed in ecru hand crocheted lace with matching hat, her flushed face begging forgiveness, as she comes to an abrupt halt. "So sorry to be late sister, but the horse threw a shoe! What have I missed?" Her sparkling hazel blue eyes take in everything and she makes a decision..."I'm not wearing shoes either then!" She kicks them off under one of the tables.
Make my words soft and tender, for I may have to eat them. :) |

Oh my. I am so sorry we are late getting here. Sir Gere had an urgent meeting and was a little late picking me up. But we are here now and ready to have a grand time. The weather is just divine and I forgot my shoes. I am famished. Where is the food table? I brought some dainty little cucumber sandwiches and some wonderful mint juleppe tea. Of, excuse me please. I must go speak to Miss Hepburn. And oh, I see Sir Bloom! Oh my, where are those salts!

My sister makes the best olive/cream cheese sandwiches. I just love them. Reginald, please bring my sister a cup of tea...dark, with 2 lumps I believe.

Oh Sis, did you see that Barbara Streisand, Mary Tyler Moore and Marlo Thomas came in just before Kate took the podium? What a great bunch of giving, charitable women to have listening to Kate's speach. I hope I get to meet them at least. There are a lot of people here. **nibbles on cucumber sandwich**

Miss Judith sits and sips her mint julep, listening to the low humming of the crowd and the equally hushed hum of the bees around her. She removes her lace hat and fans herself with it. She really shouldn't have worn her velvet gown. It doesn't breath enough for this warmish day. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves though. Some are talking about Ms.Hepburn, others about the other lovely guests.Miss Brooke looks over at her and smiles sweetly. She too seems to be in a kind of daze now that they are sitting.She'll have to decline the invitation to play any lawn game that her sister wanted to play later.It's just too warm.
