Another wonderful topic ladies, thank you!! I would really like to make gifts for my family members but not sure what. Kathy I wanted to cry when I read about your scarf, that was just awful, I sometimes feel it might happen to me. Not sure how handmade gifts would be accepted, me I love handmade!! Toni |

I wanted to add some ideas: If you have a sewer a pin cushion is always nice, I love pin cushions, I also think those towels that hang off the oven door are great. Mittens for children, and grown ups, socks for those of you who knit, my sister made me a pair for Chirstmas, I love them. Someone had on here about making spice mix, also. Keep the ideas coming!! What does one make for a person who carrys a coach bag and wears 150 sneakers? |

I made several HM gifts this year that were very well received.
The first is homemade Lemoncello (a lemon liquor). It was very easy to make and I found beautiful bottles at the Organized Living store that was going out of business for .75 apiece. Each bottle cost me about 3.60 to make total.
I also took old photos of my grandparents and blew them up into 5x7 size (think black and white, grainy and scratched photos) :) I then mounted them onto a piece of scrap fabric and framed them in an 8x10 frame. the fabric was like a mat. They were very inexpensive and because it was someone we all loved, the family members who received them LOVED them. |

Michelle, this is a great idea! Hopefully this thread will keep us all motivated throughout the summer to stay ahead of the Christmas gift power curve! Kathy, what happened to your hand made gifts is do disappointing, of all the relatives for a crafter to have, you had to have the ungrateful one, what a shame. Not everyone is like that, however, so take heart.
Michelle, I think some kind of suggested schedule might help everyone stay on track, if I think of how to do that, I will come back and post it. Right now is a great time to stock up on sale fabrics/findings/craft items. Also, like others, I used items I bartered for here on MJF as gifts, and people loved them!! Virginia
I don't suffer from stress. I'm a carrier.
