Ode to 17--1/2 Inches of Snow!! Snow, freshly fallen upon a ground oh so frozen Day time snow starting as flurries animals and wildlife to their homes quickly scurries Heavily now; the flakes with fury by my window they are a fluttering I--safely watching inside pretty, but so cold It freezes one's toes and even their nose A quite be falls No sound but the wind Swishing and at times a haunting howling The fields so clean and white What a beautiful site! Clean, glistening as if fairies scattered diamond dust amongest us Trees icend with snow white Mountain tops laced also with white A wonderful site! But dangerous it can be To nature one must give respect Though it can be a beauty can be brutal Night fall fallens ; temps too they are falling well below ! As diamonds sparkle; twinkling like jewels brightly glistening So nice to be tucked safely inside by warmth of fireside My blessing I count many I have found Leisurely I can For tis inside I am long bound!
We moved into our new home we built ; on our small farm in Sept of 2009 Many new things we have seen This blizzard was a first Since 1969/ and the one in March 1993 A long time I will remember this one Written by; Sheila Kay Smith ( me--pinkroses) copy right Dec. 21st--2009
Sheila, thta's beautiful. But way too much snow! It's good to see you back. Where have you been? I guess maybe snowbound without power. I know W.V. got slammed, too. I hope all is well there and you have a very merry CHRISTmas!
I am glad you both liked the poem Kristin I haven't been posting much; This time of the year is really not for me It is such a down time for me. hugs sheila
