Does anyone plan activities for the Winter Solstice? Or is being snowed in enough. Very tough in some parts of the US. Very warm out on the west coast for winter anyway.
Today is the first official day of winter and also the shortest day of the year. Meaning from now on the days will be getting a little longer. Yippee!!
Today: Sunrise 7:56
Sunset: 4:27
8 1/2 hours of daylight

We all are clebrating today cause, its my youngest sons 29th birthday, he was a early one, (about 3 1/2 weeks early) went into labor, he was born 1 1/2 hrs later in the living room with help from the local paramedics. The first thing he saw was the Christmas tree, lol.

My husband is Persian and they celebrate summer and winter solstices, but this winter I couldn't do anything. Unfortunately I have pneumonia right now, so I'm attempting to take it easy so Christmas morning I'll be healthy!

It is quite beautiful here in our area, it is snowing like crazy and we have about 5"s on the ground now. It looks like a Christmas card outside right now. Happy winter! Merry Christmas!

It was a beautiful day here in South Texas so I took my little gelding out for and four hour bareback trail ride. The Colonel and I had a glorious ride. Loved every minute of it. The Colonel was a bit tired though. LOL
