As many of you know, I have been a truck inspector for the Indiana State Police for several years. As of January 1, I will no longer have a job. 42 of us have been cut with no chance for return. They offered no reason except that they needed to trim $13 million from the budget. People were not given the chance to retire who had more than 20 years on and yet some with only 2 years got to keep their jobs. I was in the middle with about 9 years total with the department. I am just sick over this as my husband has also been without work since July. I haven't been sleeping, hence this posting at 230 in the morning. I truly fear we may lose our home. I have been on all the job sites putting in resumes and applications from grocery stores to factories. We have decided to try to auction off everything that we honestly can live without. I am even trying to find a home for my horse. We are keeping the chickens as they are a source of food. Anyway, please just pray for us and hope one of finds something soon. Thank you.

Lora,
We will pray for you guys...the Lord will sustain you! We went through a very similar situation, and He blessed us abundantly throughout our "tough" times! So lay your worries at His feet, know we are praying for you!

Merry Christmas to you, Lance & Liam!

Lora -

I have met you and your wonderful family this past Spring. You are special people to me; just try and relax and God will provide, you will be surprized on how you can get by with less money, its not pleasant at first but you will learn! This has happened to me and my husband also, I am now disabled with no income from me at all (except for selling some things off on ebay).

Thinking and praying for you all!

Lora, I'll be thinking of you. What a difficult situation to be in. It's no mystery why those nearest to retirement got 'downsized' first. Very sad - and unconscionable, in my opinion.

Lora, my prayers and good thoughts go out to you. Not many families are escaping job loss of some kind & you are not alone. The best advise I received in a crisis was to set aside my worry for 30 minutes to nap. A rested mind & body is more able to receive a simple peace and ideas of how to get through the next few hours or day and survive. The next best advice I received was to think of everything to be thankful for - everything that cannot be taken from you....and find solace in those things. Surviving is hard work and you are to be commended for making tough decisions. May your feel the support and care that we all send your way.

Lora, as I read your plight, and the responses, I am so happy that farmgirls all over the country are praying for you and your family. What a hit! Of course you have my prayers. I also felt very sorry that you might have to lose your horse. I'm sure that has to hurt also along with everything else. Please keep this group updated with even a little glimpse of hope, or another problem. Sometimes, it helps us to know specifically what to pray for. Is your husband getting unemployment? Any retirement lost? Besides prayer, is there anything we can do from far away?

Lora,

Jan 1st has come and gone, and I am wondering how you and your family are doing? Did they lay you off as you said? Do you have any prospects? Sorry for all the questions, but I must admit as my life has gone on, I have not followed up to see how you are. Am praying that the Lord of all provisions will open a door for you that will give you better than you had.
