When I discovered that hubby didn't watch sports on TV, I married him.

I used to watch the Disney Channel constantly when I was growing up. Also Nickelodeon. This was in the mid-80s, when both were pretty new. Back then, Disney showed almost nothing but cartoons. I saw all the classic movies, all the old Mickey and Donald shorts. Plus the black and white Mickey Mouse Club (sorry, Britney, you've got nothing on Annette Funicello) and all the classic Disney live action movies from the 50s and 60s.

I can't believe they used to just show this stuff on TV. Two or three times a week. Now they keep it locked up in "the vault" and only release it on DVD every 10 years, because there's a lot of money in home video. In most ways, I feel like I was born at a bad time in history, but here's one trivial way that I won!!

Does nobody watch LOST? It is the only thing we watch when we want to watch tv. My husband downloads it online and we watch it when we get the chance. My sister is the one that got us hooked on that.

We used to keep up with House and kind of got tired of it or just not as in to it.
Before LOST we watched Alias. I loved the first couple of seasons. After that, eh...so so. Before Alias we watched X-Files. My husband and I usually just pick one series to keep up with at a time. Which could explain why we dropped House because it was just too much to keep up with & LOST. And for awhile when we had cable I watched Star Trek Next Generation as my daily indulgence during the day.

The rage at my church is 24. I watched the first season. It was okay, but after being an Alias fan it wasn't as exciting to me as it was to people at church who didn't watch Alias. LOST is like the Twilight Zone & Fantasy Island and Gilligan's Island mixed with X-Files.

My daughter, when she can watch cable, watches Paula Deen. She loves her! For her birthday (she turned 5) we bought her the dvd with 3 episodes and our 7 yo ds liked it just as much! If and when we have cable I love Clean Sweep and many of the decorating/organizing/landscaping shows. They are addictive.

I really don't care for the shows about dead bodies, lawyers, police, emergency room personnel, or single crazy women etc. But, I get really wrapped up in watching the show about the serial killers (and they talk about the particular city) on one of the cable channels, can't remember the name, it was awful, but it was like a trainwreck to me. Good that we don't have cable anymore. If I catch Everybody Loves Raymond I like that show a lot. Oprah is mostly annoying with occasional interesting topics. Dr. Phil gets on my nerves. Wife Swap gets me really wound up. I have only seen it a few times. Why do they always pair a vegetarian mom and a hunting-in-order-to-supplement-their-income family? I will occasionally get the chance to watch Martha Stewart. My children always groan at me. I like her. Not real popular with anyone in my family or in my church or with my friends at all. But, oh well.

I love old movies. And I am not really reading as much as I would like to be. Right now I am supposed to be slogging through Crime & Punishment. Anyone else read it? And I keep up with NPR somewhat on the radio.

Who said McCloeds Daughters? I'm with you on that one! Those women, they are so strong. I wish I could be more like them.

What can I say about Big Love. I love it! I might not agree with it
but I love the show. I watch it Sunday night when it's new then again
on Wednesday night, in case I missed something, LOL!

Paula Deen and Everyday Italian are my favorites for cooking.

Other than that...I don't watch much TV.

I don't do much tv watching during the day, but it is on HGTV all day just so I can 'hear' it. When hubby gets home it's usually a movie, Law & order(my fav) or court tv. They have some goods shows at night.
I sure don't know what I'd do without tv.....it's the noise that I really have it for. Gets to dang quiet in here sometimes. ;o)

Rebecca,

You found someone else that watches LOST. We love it, we watch it as a family and my kids are so caught up in the story line. We do flip the channel sometimes when the topic is not ok for the kids to watch but for the most part they can watch it and they are not little so they understand it is not real. I also love to watch the Home and Garden channel and the only other thing I watch is the Hallmark channel. I love happy family movies and they have them so I love to watch that channel. Yes, my family makes fun of me for it lol. It is a beautiful day here and I am about to go work in the yard.
I hope everyone has a great day!

I would love to have that channel. I saw a movie called What the Deaf Man Heard and loved it. Also there was one with Candace Bergin (sp?) and she had fallen in love with a much younger man and she taught him to read. But, I can't remember the name of it.

Hi--
I am new to this forum. I am with the McLeod's Daughters fans. I had to break down and get a region-free DVD player and order the DVDs from Australia just to watch the show, since WE cancelled it. Considering the other shows on WE, McLeod's was too good a show for that channel.
I live in NYC and as silly as this sounds, I think that show is one of the reasons I am imagining having my own farm someday (although not a sprawling ranch in the Outback!).
