What is your favorite Autumn recipe that just seems perfect this time of year?

For me, pumpkin bread is my top Autumn recipe, hot from the oven.

Ooh Mom made these killer potatoes last night. They were mixed with baked apples and cinnamon. You serve it on top of pork chops..YUMMY!! Definitly reminded me of fall!
Though, as for old recipes, it would be hot apple cider with all the spices simmering in the crock pot! :

For me, it is chicken chili. Along with cornbread, it is so warm and spicy and just great for a cold evening's perfect dinner.

One of our favorite " Autumn Dinners " is lamb stew with big chunks of meat and vegtables served in sourdough bread bowls, the smell of it cooking in the crisp cool air is to die for, yummmmmmmm...

Oh, I have several. Vegetable beef soup, chili, sweet potatoe pie, pumpkin pie and pazole. Pazole is a Mexican soup with hominy. Absolutely delicious.

Apple pie, sweet potato-parsnip soup and scalloped potatoes are the things I look forward to the most when autumn arrives.
Sarah- I found honey crisp apples at our local Kroger. I think they came from Michigan. Maybe yours would have them or they could order them for you?

Until finding this recipe years ago on the old Simply Quilts show with Alex Anderson on tv I would have answered pumpkin pie but now it isn't autumn without New England Cranberry Delight. Oh baby! HGTV doesn't have the old link up for the recipe anymore but I found this on a Google search. (Ok, who is too lazy to get up and get her recipe out of the binder???)

A Quilter's Christmas Cook Book
by Ada Miller, Glen Miller, Nancy Markston &
Karen Jensen
HGTV - Simply Quilts - Alex Anderson via

Combine: 3 cups chopped apple and 2 cups
raw cranberries and 1-1/4 cup sugar
Combine: 1 1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup melted butter
pour over all the top
1/3 cup chopped nuts
Cover apples and cranberries with crumb
mixture.
Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Serve with cool whip or whip cream

edit: I also make this with splenda products instead of the real sugar too. It is a straight swap on the granulated but for the Splenda brown sugar you use 1/4 cup instead.

Apple Butter...it seems that during this time of year we have apple butter stir offs everywhere..with the big iron pots over the wood fires. The air smells of spices and wood smoke. I love it.

Annika, would you care to share that chicken liver pate recipe? My mom used to make one, but of course the recipe is lost to time and many moves! I remember that I loved it a lot!

My pate is more spreadable than sliceable and I've just always made it up as I go along, but I'd love to figure out a recipe so I can pass it on...It is divine ! Sometimes I love to halve pears and hollow out the center and put a scoop of pate mousse in them....very good.
Poor me! I guess I'll just have to make some to come up with a recipe for you But I'd be delighted to share it!

Apple Crisp & Meatloaf, yum! The apple crisp recipe sounds very similar to the cran & apple recipe previous, maybe I'll throw some in the next time we make it :)
