1. I absolutely REFUSE to buy anymore storage bins, baskets, shelves, etc...until I FIRST go through everything. You will be surprised when you find out you don't need to buy anything extra because you now have space. 2. Once your put your hands on it, make a decision about it. 3. Creat a space to put your donate and trash...usually an area of the garage works best. This moves in out of the house and one step closer to your car for delivery or the curb. 4. Put like items together...you might have a bigger mess at first, but when you go to put everything away...you won't be running back and forth. 5. Take a use it up, wear it out challenge before you buy another similiar item.
Anyone have any good tips to add???

we use the 6 months rule sans special items. If you haven't used it or looked for it in the last 6 months, its automatically a goner!
special items such as thing grandma gave me or baby book etc excluded ;)

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
