How do I get rid of them? So far I have only had one in the house, but it was big and I fear they may be in my crawl space. Freak out is a good word for that night. Help!!!

thanks, Laurie

I would have to go to professional bug getter with those we had them in Texas and was so afraid they would get to my little girls in the night.

I have no idea how to get rid of them, but I had one sting me two years ago in the Hill Country of Texas. My little toe still hurts. Be careful with those things. If it is in your house, keep your shoes up. They like to get in shoes, so I heard. LOL

We fondly call them desert lobster around here, and as far as my chickens are concerned, they are lobster, they will fight to the death over them, lol. Their stings do hurt and if you have allergys to insect stings, be careful, you could end up in the ER. As far as getting rid of them, other than chickens, I guess an exterminnator would help, just remember that they use poisen.

Chickens sure do like them. I also powder outside with DE Diatomacious Earth (?) it really does kill them. It will kill all bugs though - even your good ones.

As fascinating as these are, they give me the willies too...especially the big ones.

Blech!

I lived in So Cal Palm Springs for 5 years and thankfully didn't have to run into too many of these. But when I did, it was an unforgettable experience.

Can't imagine bunches of thes in crawl spaces
